CONOCOPHILLIPS BESTOWS GENEROUS GIFTS OF TIME AND MONEY
On May 22, 2010 a group of approximately 50 employees of ConocoPhillips invested their time and energy in working on the Yucca Ave. house. They finished putting siding on the shed, put up the support beams for the carport, and added the trusses over the carport. Because they had such a large group, Tres Rios Habitat received a check in the amount of $2,000.00 from ConocoPhillips for the time they worked with us. Recently, we received notice that we will also receive a grant of $5,000.00 from ConocoPhillips to support the building of this house. We cannot express enough our gratitude for this outstanding support of time and money from this corporate neighbor.
ANNUAL MEETING ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 7:00 PM
Tres Rios Habitat will hold our Annual Meeting on Monday, September 27 at 7:00 pm at the Farmington Civic Center. This is an opportunity to share with you pictures of our progress during the past year. We will also be electing new members to the Board of Directors. It is important to have as many people as possible to attend the meeting and demonstrate the support Tres Rios Habitat has in the community. If there are persons who would be interested in becoming members of the Board of Directors, please send a notice of your interest and a brief biography to our email, habitatsanjuan@gmail.com.
SAN JUAN ROTARY DONATES $6,000.00
We extend a great big “THANK YOU” to the San Juan Rotary Club and Merrion Oil Company for choosing Tres Rios Habitat as the recipient for this year’s annual golf tournament. The money is certainly needed as we continue to pay expenses on building the Yucca Ave. house.

NOT TOO LATE TO WORK ON THE HOUSE
While a lot of progress has been made on the Yucca Ave. house, there is still work to be done. Drywall has been installed and taped. Texturing is happening now to be followed by painting of the interior. Then floors need to be installed, followed by cabinets, and finish work. For the average person, the end is in sight. However, without the continued help of everyone that work could take a long time. The Board of Directors took action to complete the sale of the house to Beverly Charley at the end of June so that she would qualify for the federal tax credit for first time home owners. Thus, we want to get her into the house as quickly as we can.
We will continue having work days on every Saturday until the house is completed. You can find us at 8:00 am and join us at whatever time works for you for as long as you can work. Come to the house to work or just drive by and admire the progress at 1704 Yucca Ave. Directions: from 20th St. and Sullivan, go south on Sullivan, turn right on 18th, right again on Fairgrounds Rd, then left at Yucca Ave. The house is on the right.
DONATIONS BY INDIVIDUALS ENCOURAGED
While we acknowledge the large donations made by corporations, we want to remember those other donations that are received from individuals. At the current time, we receive monthly gifts from several persons. These gifts mount up and allow the organization to pay for new houses or other bills that keep a nonprofit organization functioning and on task. If you are willing to make a one-time donation or to give on a regular basis, please make your check or money order to Tres Rios Habitat for Humanity and send it to PO Box 324, Farmington, NM 87499.
